#9: Jon Moxley vs. Biff Busick, GCW Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 8 (3/31/2022).

One of the best 10 minute matches I've ever seen.

Contests like this make the Bloodsport event so much fun to watch every year. This one, taking place during WrestleMania 38 weekend, is my favorite due to the sheer amount of star power present. From Josh Barnett and Minoru Suzuki, to JONAH and John Hennigan, to Mike Bailey and Timothy Thatcher, this show had a real who's who of people who fit the mold of what Bloodsport represents.

The highlight of the show is easily this first time match, between Biff Busick - the former Oney Lorcan in WWE - and Jon Moxley, then the GCW Heavyweight Champion and a man who was in the best shape of his career due to some time in rehab for alcoholism. The venue for this event immediately makes this feel like an illegal fight that shouldn't be happening. Cool!

An early highlight saw Mox using his forearm to crank at the neck of Biff. Mox hits a nice takedown to Biff, who counters by holding onto the head and locking in a guillotine. Nice Regal Stretch from Mox - shout out to his mentor, William Regal. During that submission, Biff just looks up at Mox while in the hold, which is fucking awesome.

Some elbows from Mox bust Biff open, and I mean open! He is a bloody fucking mess. They fight on the outside, and upon reentering the ring, Biff hits a chop that rings throughout the entire venue. Mox invites him to hit him again! Mox gets a Camel Clutch neck crank in on Biff. Biff takes top position and rains down the forearms - all while bleeding all over him!

Some more ugly exchanges on the feet (I mean that in the best way possible) and then Biff slaps the shit out of Mox. He hits a half nelson suplex, followed by an uppercut and a bulldog choke. The visual of his blood pouring onto Mox is both badass and disgusting. Biff is one of the toughest motherfuckers you'll ever see.

Mox gets back on top, and takes the back. He unloads with PRIDE style knees to the top of Biff's head. Biff flips him the double bird, and Mox responds with a Regal Knee that KOs him for the win. Absolutely incredible match. For being just over 10 minutes, this felt like such a rush. This was one of Biff's last matches, as he became a coach at WWE's Performance Center, and soon after, he announced his retirement. I personally hope he and Mox have a rematch one day, because I could watch this shit for days.
